What is tufting?

Tufting is an art form using yarn and fabric to create rugs, coasters, mirrors, and anything else your heart desires! Tufting projects are typically completed in four steps: tufting, gluing, trimming and backing.

What happens in a workshop?

In this 4-hour session, instructors will set up your tufting station, provide you with yarn for your project, and show the class how to use the tufting equipment. Under their supervision, you will create your own original piece. Lastly, they will walk you through the trimming and gluing process and make sure you are happy with the final product.

Do I need to make a reservation, do you accept walk-ins?

Yes, it is likely that we will be fully booked a week in advance. We recommend scheduling your visit 1-2 weeks ahead of time. You can DM us on Instagram @gotuftingnyc to check availability for the day.

Can two or more people work on one tufted piece?

Of course!

ML-Rug, L-Rug, and XL-Rug workshops already allow 2-3 ppl to work on the same piece at no additional cost.

Coaster Set, Mirror, and M-Rug workshops are meant for 1 person, however, you are welcome to bring additional guests to accompany you for an extra $80 fee each.

Only 1 time slot needs to be booked for each workshop regardless of the number of participants. If you and your friends each want to tuft your own piece, then you will need to book multiple time slots.

Paw friends are also welcomed! Just send us an email in advance.

The estimated production time varies from 2.5 - 7 hours depending on your project’s size.

Workshops for 1 Person:

• Coaster Set (2pc) (7” x 7”) - 2.5 hours - $180

• Mirror (15” x 15”) - 3.5 hours - $250

• Medium Rug (20” x 20”) - 4 hours - $290

Workshops for 2-3 people：

• Medium-Large Rug (24” x 24”) - 5 hours - $380

• Large Rug (28” x 28”) - 6 hours - $430

• X-Large Rug (35” x 35”) - 7 hours - $500

Other Items (upon request)：

• Phone Case - 2.5 hours - $150

• Makeup Mirror - 2.5 hours - $200

• Bag - 6 hours - $450

How do I choose the design for mirrors/rugs?

You will be responsible for choosing a design before you come in. For inspiration, visit our Instagram @gotuftingnyc to see what our customers have made!

What if I cannot finish within the time limit?

Don’t worry! You can book another time slot to finish your item with additional fees of $50/hr when you exceed the anticipated time frame for your selected project. Or, you can discuss with the instructor about completing the piece for you to take home. (Each instructor might charge differently according to their expertise).

Cancellation Policy/Rescheduling Policy of our studio

All Sales are final. Unfortunately, no refund will be issued. However, you can reschedule your visit 72 hours in advance. Just contact us through email or Instagram DMs.

Why is the workshop only $100? Is that the total amount?

A $100 deposit is required in advance to reserve your seat. Based on the items (rugs/mirrors/etc.) you make during the workshop, you will pay the rest of the amount at the studio.

i.e. If you make a mirror, it is $250 in total. During check-out at our studio, you will only be charged $150. :)
